Stella McCartney Winter 2011
Time to take a look at Stella’s amazing collection I’ve promised to feature since the very beginning of the season. The palette is clear with black and astro blue playing main roles of the line and ivory goodies to give snow a voice. And, as there is also a set of dazzling parties and celebrations at the turn of the years, a part of the line is gold and surrealistic-printed with raw shaped foil felted wool silhouettes and silky folds to embrace the body in a sensual but comfortable way.
Volumes are bold and tailoring masculine. The shirts are oversized, dresses wrapped, shoulders dropped and enlarged to mark the maxi size of coats and jackets. Just to balance the look so that you don’t get overloaded with the woolen sculptures, the spots on the body-outlining dresses at the end are hand embroidered and the tulle nicely shaped to create an intriguing but delicate evening look.
